In America today its as if the working class and the poor have ceased to exist. At least that’s how it seems if you listen to politicians and the media. All they ever talk about is either the super-rich 1% or the ‘middle-class’. Is it considered shameful to be ‘poor’ or ‘working class’ ? Does not having much money make you a ‘non-person’ ?

there’s such a stigma against being poor, they’re never mentioned
